The third generation widened the front bodywork to integrate the cab and front fenders, following Dodge and General Motors, and went a step further by integrating the hood into a clamshell design that stayed on the F-Series for two decades. Production moved out of the Highland Park plant in May 1957 to ten other plants. Four wheel drive became a factory option in 1959, and this was the last generation to offer a panel van. Each model year has its own page.
