The Mark V Cortina, announced on 24 August 1979 and marketed as the Cortina 80 under the programme name Teresa, was a step between a facelift and a rebody of the Mark IV. It had revised headlights, the Aeroflow grille first seen on the Fiesta, a flatter roof and a larger glass area, and the 2.3 liter V6 was given electronic ignition. It was Britain's best seller in 1980 and 1981, and the last one left Dagenham on 22 July 1982. Its model years run from 1979 to 1982.
