1982 Ford Cortina

Automobiles

The Cortina's last year was 1982. It was still Britain's second best selling car and the most popular large family car, and the last one, a silver Crusader, rolled off the Dagenham line on 22 July 1982 as the Sierra was launched, although thousands of Cortinas were still unsold in October when the Sierra went on sale and more than 11,000 were registered in 1983. In South Africa the Cortina pickup got a longer bed and was from then on marketed as the Ford P100. A few Cortinas were still leaving showrooms in 1987.
