The Focus C-Max of 2004 seated five passengers and offered a large load space that could grow when the rear seats were folded flat. Some versions had outer rear seats that slid diagonally. It used the same four cylinder engines as the Focus, with a 1.6 litre Duratec as the base engine. The C-Max was a five door compact people carrier that Ford built on the same platform as the Focus. A longer seven seat version called the Grand C-Max sat above it in the range.
