The Focus C-Max of 2005 shared the control blade independent rear suspension of the Focus. A 1.8 litre flexible fuel engine from Volvo ran on petrol or ethanol, and diesels were available in 1.6 and 2.0 litre sizes from the Ford and PSA partnership. A longer seven seat version called the Grand C-Max sat above it in the range. The C-Max was a five door compact people carrier that Ford built on the same platform as the Focus.
