The fifth Viper, the VX I, returned after a gap following a 2010 decision by Sergio Marchionne to revive the car, and was built by SRT for 2013 and 2014. Its all aluminum 8.4 liter V10 was rated at 640 horsepower and coupled to a Tremec six speed manual. Sales were poor, production was cut by a third in October 2013 and paused for over two months in April 2014, and the price was lowered. The Viper was renamed the SRT Viper in 2015, and production ended in 2017. Its model years run from 2013 to 2017.
