The first Super Bee was a Dodge Coronet two door coupe fitted with a big V8 and a bumblebee stripe, built as a cheaper performance car in the same mold as the Plymouth Road Runner. It rode on the B platform with a slightly longer wheelbase than the Plymouth, a Dodge Charger dash cluster and a Hurst shifter on four speed cars. A hardtop joined the pillared coupe in 1969, and a redesigned front end with twin looped bumpers followed in 1970. Its model years run from 1968 to 1970.
