The third generation Challenger went on sale in early 2008, shown on 6 February at the Chicago and Philadelphia auto shows after deposits began in December 2007. It was a two door notchback coupe that listed at about $40,000 and shared design cues with the first Challenger. Only the SRT8 with the 6.1 liter Hemi V8 was offered at first. Mexico received 100 SRT8 cars, and Canada got 670 cars badged as the Challenger 500.
