Mercury Cyclone

Automobiles

The Cyclone was a performance oriented Mercury marketed from 1964 to 1971. It was introduced in 1964 as the Comet Cyclone, replacing the S-22, became a distinct nameplate for 1968 as the Montego phased in for the Comet, and returned in 1972 only as a package for the Montego with 30 produced. It was positioned between the Cougar and the full size two doors, and represented Mercury in racing as a counterpart of the Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 5 generations: the first generation (1964 to 1965); the second generation (1966 to 1967); the third generation (1968 to 1969); the fourth generation (1970 to 1971); the fifth generation (1972).
