The 1968 Camaro looked very like the 1967 original, with side marker lights added on the front and rear fenders to meet safety rules for all 1968 vehicles. Ten engines were available that year, and an automatic Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 could be ordered with most V8s from 1968. The Z/28 option came back for 1968. A three speed Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 automatic became available on most V8s starting in 1968, and a 1968 Z/28 competed in the 1971 British Saloon Car Championship at Crystal Palace in a three way battle for the lead.
