The M4 Cabrio Edition 30 Jahre came in 2018 after it was initially released in 2016 for the BMW M3. Starting from the 2019 model year, with production from July 2018 onward, BMW removed the carbon fiber driveshaft so as to fit an Otto Particulate Filter, necessary to comply with WLTP emissions regulations, which meant that the M Performance Exhaust could no longer be offered. The M4 was in its fifth year in 2018, a high performance 4 Series built by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M GmbH.
