The Vision Neue Klasse X concept was announced by BMW in March 2024 as a preview of the design of the next iX3, and the car was shown at the Paris Auto Show that year as the first to use the new design language. The NA5 would not share a platform with the combustion X3. The concept year is the first of the second generation, set before the production car reached customers in 2025. The production iX3 followed in 2025.
