The first generation 4 Series was made up of the F32 coupe, the F33 convertible and the F36 Gran Coupe five door liftback, a series that BMW created to replace the E92 3 Series coupe. It was previewed by the Concept 4 Series in December 2012 and January 2013, unveiled at Frankfurt in September 2013, and led by the F82 and F83 M4 models. The coupe was built in Munich, the convertible in Regensburg. Its model years run from 2013 to 2020.
