By 1993 the E30 range was reduced to the convertible and the Touring. The convertibles had been built from late 1990 to 1993, so this was the last year of the factory open car in the second generation 3 Series, leaving only the estate in production, built at Munich as the long running wagon version of the E30 for buyers who preferred it to the new E36. Meanwhile the third generation E36 had taken over the saloon and coupe business.
