For 1997 Acura made a power moonroof standard on all TL models and gave every TL a variable-speed intermittent wiper setting. The 3.2 TL was fitted with 205/65 tires on 15 inch wheels and kept the V6, while the sport-targeted five-cylinder 2.5 TL was fitted with new alloy wheels. Both cars were still built in Japan and sold in that country as the Honda Inspire and Saber, and in the United States the TL remained Acura's entry-level luxury sedan beneath the 3.5 RL.
