The RLX arrived as Acura's replacement for the RL, sold from March 2013 as a 2014 model and built on the same design as the Honda Legend for Japan. The front-drive base car had a 3.5 litre direct-injection V6 with cylinder deactivation and a four-wheel steering system Acura called Precision All-Wheel Steer. The Sport Hybrid version added three electric motors and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to reach 377 horsepower with torque vectoring. A facelift for 2018 sharpened the styling and added a 10-speed automatic.
