The 2014 RLX went on sale on March 15, 2013 as the flagship that replaced the RL, built at the Saitama plant where the RL had ended production in June 2012. The base car was front-wheel drive with Precision All-Wheel Steer, and its 3.5 litre V6 made 310 horsepower. It was the first Acura with standard Jewel Eye LED headlamps. US sales of the Sport Hybrid began in September 2014, with 250 built for this model year.
