In 2018 the NSX continued in its original form, the same as the 2017 car with the 573 horsepower hybrid powertrain. Honda announced improvements in August 2018 that took effect with the 2019 model year. In racing the NSX-GT based on the production car won the 2018 Super GT championship with Jenson Button and Naoki Yamamoto, and the GT3 version finished second in the IMSA GTD standings with two wins.
