The 2005 NSX was the last of the first generation. Production at Suzuka ended on November 30, 2005, and United States sales finished the same year, after Canada's ended in 2000. About 18,000 units were sold worldwide in more than fifteen years. A second-generation NSX would not follow for more than a decade, until the new hybrid arrived for the 2017 model year, and the 2005 cars were the final run of the mid-engine V6 car with a naturally aspirated engine and VTEC.
