The 2003 Acura NSX carried the 2002 facelift without further changes to its appearance: fixed xenon headlamps, a lower rear valance with revised side skirts that made the car look lower, and a drag coefficient of 0.30. Under the skin the 3.2 litre engine with six-speed manual remained the manual option and the automatic kept the 3.0 litre unit. The facelifted car had a lower rear valance wrapped around the car to the revised side skirts, and Honda now offered more exterior colors, with a matching or black interior. The second Japanese NSX-R appeared in 2002.
