The 2002 facelift replaced the pop-up headlamps with fixed xenon units, widened the rear tires, retuned the suspension and revised the tail lights and rear spoiler, which cut the drag coefficient to 0.30. The hardtop coupe was no longer offered in North America from 2002, so every NSX there was a targa. A four-speed automatic with a manual-type shift option became available, and gauge faces turned blue.
