The Jeepster, internally the VJ, was introduced in April 1948 and produced through 1950, with some leftover cars sold as 1951 models. It used the drivetrain, front suspension and steering of the Willys Station Wagon, a Go Devil four cylinder engine and later a six, and was rear wheel drive only, which limited its appeal to typical Jeep buyers. It carried many deluxe features as standard. Its model years run from 1948 to 1950.
