The Willys-Overland Jeepster was a sporty, rear wheel drive open passenger car sold from 1948 to 1950, built to take the Jeep name from farm and work vehicles into the passenger car market. Designer Brooks Stevens gave it a simple slab sided shape because Willys could not form deep drawn fenders, and it sold only about 19,000 cars before the name was revived on the Jeepster Commando. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the VJ Jeepster (1948 to 1950).
