Triumph TR4

Automobiles

The TR4 is the sports car that the Triumph Motor Company produced from 1961 to 1965, successor to the TR3A, with a chassis and drivetrain closely related to its predecessor's but an updated body designed by Michelotti. Triumph began planning the successor to the TR3 as early as 1956, and a prototype code named Zest, built on a TR3A chassis, was complete by 1958. In 1965 the TR4A superseded it, with a revised chassis and independent rear suspension. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the TR4 (1961 to 1965); the TR4A (1965 to 1967).
