The Toyota Verossa is a mid size sedan that Toyota produced for the Japanese market, exclusive to Netz Store locations as the smaller companion sedan to the Aristo. It exceeded Japanese government dimension and engine displacement limits and kept a rear wheel drive layout, with four wheel drive offered on some trim levels, opposite the front wheel drive Camry of similar size. Introduced in June 2001, it replaced the Chaser and Cresta, combining the sporting side of the Chaser with the luxury of the Cresta. Production ceased in April 2004 because of poor sales, and the name combines the Italian words vero and rosso. Generations with their own pages on this site: the single generation (2001 to 2004).
