The Toyota Opa is a compact car that Toyota produced from 2000 to 2005, its name derived from the exclamation for surprise in Portuguese. It was introduced as a prototype at the October 1999 Tokyo Motor Show and was put into production in January 2000, the result of the V50 Vista Ardeo wagon modified into a five door hatchback. The transmission shifter was moved from the floor to the lower dashboard so passengers could walk to the rear from either front seat. It was exclusive to Toyopet Store locations as a larger companion to the Caldina station wagon. Generations with their own pages on this site: the single generation (1999 to 2005).
