The tenth generation went on sale in Japan on 10 October 2006, where the sedan took the Axio name and the wagon stayed the Fielder, in a narrow body that obeyed Japanese size rules. A wider version, the E150 in China and Europe from early 2007 and the E140 elsewhere from late 2007, carried different styling and kept the Altis name in much of Asia. Production of the wide body car continued as the entry level Corolla Quest in South Africa until 2020.
