The Toyota Brevis is a former mid size luxury sedan that Toyota introduced in May 2001 and sold only in Japan, with sales starting in June 2001 and ending in June 2007. It was exclusive to Toyota Store dealerships in Japan, while its twin the Progrès was exclusive to Toyopet Store locations. The name is Latin for brief or a short amount of time. It was conceived as a mini LS430 for younger customers, represented the market segment previously served by the Carina ED, and shared its platform with the Progrès and the Lexus IS.
