The Simca Sport was a series of grand touring coupes and cabriolets built by the French maker Simca, then a subsidiary of Fiat, between 1948 and 1962. It began with the Simca 8 Sport shown at the 1948 Paris salon, a Pininfarina-styled car on the chassis of the Simca 8, and it passed through the 8½ Sport, the 9 Sport, the Coupé de Ville and Week-End cabriolet of 1955, and the Plein Ciel coupe and Océane cabriolet of 1956. Facel-Métallon was later charged with building the bodies and assembling the cars. Performance stayed modest, about 135 km/h for the early cars and 140 km/h for the Plein Ciel, because the cars used ordinary Simca engines, and the series was succeeded from 1962 by the Simca 1000 Coupé and 1200 S.
