The Simca Profissional was the cheapest version of the Brazilian Simca Chambord range and the successor of the Simca Alvorada. It appeared in 1965, when the Brazilian government created a public financing scheme through the Caixa Econômica Federal allowing buyers to finance a vehicle over four years, and Simca do Brasil wanted a lower-priced car aimed partly at taxicab drivers. It had three colours, painted bumpers and grille, eucatex seat covers, untrimmed door cardboard and no glove compartment lid, and cost about 30 percent less than the Chambord. It was discontinued in 1966 when the Chambord range gave way to the Esplanada.
