Simca Jangada

Automobiles

The Simca Jangada was the station wagon of the Brazilian Chambord range. Simca do Brasil built it on the basis of the French Vedette Marly estate and sold it beside the Chambord, the Présidence and the cheaper Alvorada. It was a niche model: the production list of the Brazilian Vedette family gives 2,705 Jangadas, against 42,910 Chambords, 3,992 Rallyes and 848 Présidences. Like the rest of that line it was replaced by the Esplanada, which Simca introduced at the Brazilian motor show in November 1966 with new sheet metal.
