The Simca Alvorada was a deliberately stripped-down version of the Simca Chambord, built by Simca do Brasil from 1963. It existed because the Brazilian government of President Juscelino Kubitschek required every car maker to offer an affordable basic model, and the company reluctantly created it from its luxury Chambord. It came in only two colours, with no chrome, no trim and a very simple interior, and it was named after the presidential palace in Brasília where the order originated. It found few buyers, only 378 being built in two years, and the Simca Profissional succeeded it in 1965.
