The Mark III was presented at the London Motor Show in October 1965, described at the time as even more luxuriously trimmed and furnished. A total of 3,919 saloons and 2,501 coupes had been sold by the time production ended in 1967, when the P5B replaced it. Its model years run from 1965 to 1967. It followed the Mark II of 1962 to 1965 and was the last of the six cylinder P5 cars, which Rover replaced in 1967 with the V8 powered P5B. It was built by Rover as both a saloon and a coupe, and it was sold alongside the P6 saloon.
