The Rover 200 Series and its successor the Rover 25 are the small family cars that Rover built at the Longbridge factory from 1984 until 2005, in four distinct generations. The first, the SD3, was based on the Honda Ballade and ended the Triumph badge; the R8 of 1989 was a hatchback designed to replace the Maestro; the R3 of 1995 was designed in house; and the facelifted Rover 25 of 1999 spawned the MG ZR and the Streetwise. Production ceased in 2005 when MG Rover went into administration. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 4 generations: the SD3 (1984 to 1989); the R8 (1989 to 1995); the R3 (1995 to 1999); the Rover 25 (1999 to 2005).
