The pre war Wraith came from the Rolls-Royce works at Derby in 1938 and 1939 as a bare rolling chassis for independent coachbuilders to body, the successor to the 25/30. Wraith is an old Scottish word meaning ghost or spirit. It had a 4,257 cc six cylinder engine with a cross flow head, a new independent coil sprung front suspension based on the Packard 120 and a welded chassis. 492 chassis were made, the last delivered in 1947. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1938 to 1939).
