The Riley Nine was one of the most successful light sporting cars of the interwar years, made in Coventry between 1926 and 1938 with a wide range of body styles. Percy Riley designed the 1,087 cubic centimeter four cylinder engine with hemispherical combustion chambers and two high camshafts, and his brother Stanley designed the chassis, suspension and body. It launched in July 1926 as a Monaco saloon and a tourer, and the Imp sports version was added in 1934. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the Nine (1926 to 1938).
