The fifth generation Ram made its debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, on January 15, 2018, while its HD version made its debut at the next year's show on January 14, 2019. Sales of the 2019 Ram 1500 began the first quarter of 2018 as an early 2019 model year vehicle, and the 2019 truck offered just seven trim levels, compared to the previous eleven. Ram 1500 trucks are produced at the Sterling Heights Assembly plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Its model years run from 2019 to the present.
