The third generation Plymouth Voyager was redesigned from the ground up for 1996 on the new Chrysler NS platform, with a driver side sliding door, a minivan first, and it was on Car and Driver's Ten Best list for 1996 and 1997. It had a dark gray eggcrate grille, with matte gray bumpers across all trims, and new Easy Out roller seats that made the rear seats simple to install and remove. The LE trim was dropped in the United States to avoid overlap with the Town and Country. Its model years run from 1996 to 2000.
