Pininfarina Sergio

The Pininfarina Sergio is a concept car built by the Italian design house Pininfarina and shown at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show as a tribute to Sergio Pininfarina, the company's former chairman and designer, who died on 3 July 2012. It is a coachbuilt two-seat barchetta on the mechanical underpinnings of the Ferrari 458 Spider, with a full carbon body that saves roughly ten percent of the weight of the aluminium panels on the donor car. It has no conventional windshield; a virtual windshield that deploys at 50 km/h sends a stream of air over the driver and passenger. Its design takes cues from the 1965 Dino Berlinetta Speciale and from the Mythos and Modulo concepts. Ferrari later built six production examples, sold as the Ferrari Sergio, which add a windshield and a removable hard top.
