The MG 14/28 Super Sports was the second line of cars from the small Oxford firm that became MG, launched in 1924 under Cecil Kimber and built on the chassis of the Morris Oxford bullnose. The chassis was collected from the nearby Cowley factory, lightly modified and fitted with a mildly tuned engine and an aluminium-panelled body in two colours, with front-wheel brakes from late 1924. A fabric-bodied saloon joined the range in 1926, and when Morris dropped the bullnose radiator for a flat one the car was redesigned and became heavier and slower. About 400 were built before the very similar 14/40 replaced it in 1927.
