Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class (C218)

Automobiles

The C218 is the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, a range of four-door coupe sedans built from 2011 to 2017 and succeeded by the C257 in 2018. It shares its chassis and most of its technology with the W212 E-Class, and its design came from the F800 Style concept shown at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show; the production car was unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and production began in January 2011. Unlike the first generation it could be ordered with 4MATIC all-wheel drive on every model, and a five-door estate called the CLS Shooting Brake, announced in June 2012, joined the sedan. The CLS 63 AMG used a 5.5 litre bi-turbo V8 rated at 386 kW at launch. A facelift for model year 2015 added a nine-speed automatic to most models and renamed the BlueTEC diesels with a d. Sedans and Shooting Brakes were built in Sindelfingen, Germany.
