The second generation Tribute was a significant revamp for the 2008 model year, shared with the Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner. It stayed on the CD2 platform with the 2.3 liter four and 3.0 liter V6, but had all new sheet metal and interior, differing from its siblings only in the nose, tail lights and details. A Hybrid model was added, for 2009 a new 2.5 liter four of 171 horsepower and a 240 horsepower V6 arrived with a six speed automatic. It ended after 2011, replaced by the CX-5. Its model years run from 2007 to 2011.
