The third generation CX-5 was revealed on 10 July 2025 and went on sale during 2026, in Japan on 21 May, in New Zealand on 5 March and in Australia on 24 March, with a 2.5 liter Skyactiv-G PY-VPS engine in several markets. Mazda recorded more than 10,000 orders for it in Japan in the month after sales began. It was launched in Taiwan, South Africa, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos later in the year. Its model year is 2026, the first of the generation.
