The third generation CX-5 went on sale in New Zealand on 5 March 2026, in Australia on 24 March with Pure, Evolve, Touring, GT SP and Akera trims, in Japan on 21 May, where Mazda recorded over 10,000 orders by 23 June, in Taiwan in August, South Africa in August, Indonesia in July, Cambodia in September and Laos in October. It uses the 2.5 liter Skyactiv-G PY-VPS petrol engine in several markets. It follows the second generation KF, which was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 15 November 2016.
