Maserati Indy

Automobiles

The Maserati Indy is a four-seat fastback grand tourer built by Maserati from 1969 to 1975, the first Maserati produced under Citroen ownership. It was conceived as a V8 alternative to the Ghibli with room for four, and in effect replaced both the six-cylinder Sebring and the first generation Quattroporte. The production car follows the Vignale prototype shown at the Turin motor show in November 1968, was launched at Geneva in March 1969, and was named for Maserati's two Indianapolis 500 victories. It used unibody construction and Maserati's own all-aluminium four-cam Tipo 107 V8 in 4.2, 4.7 and later 4.9 litre forms. In all, 1,104 were built.
