The Lexus LFA is a two-door sports car that Toyota built under its Lexus marque from 2010 to 2012, with 500 units made in two years. Development under the code name TXS began in early 2000, the first prototype was finished in June 2003, and testing at the Nurburgring started in October 2004. The production car was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2009 for the twentieth anniversary of Lexus, and manufacture began on 15 December 2010 at the Motomachi plant in Toyota, Aichi. Its 4.8 litre V10, built with Yamaha, makes 412 kilowatts and gives a top speed of 325 kilometres per hour. Designers drew on the 1965 2000GT.
