The Discovery Sport, coded L550, is a luxury compact crossover that replaced the Freelander in late 2014 and has been Land Rover's best seller since 2017. It was the first Discovery with a unibody structure, a steel monocoque with aluminium bonnet, wings, roof and tailgate, on the LR-MS platform shared with the Evoque, and it offers a five-plus-two seating layout. Ford engines were replaced by Jaguar Land Rover Ingenium units from late 2015, and the car was facelifted in 2019 on the PTA platform with mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines.
