The Hudson Pacemaker was a Hudson car built in 1939 and again for the 1950 through 1952 model years. The 1939 car was introduced in March of that year as the effective replacement for the Terraplane, on a 118 inch wheelbase with a 212 cubic inch six, and was not carried into the 1940 range. When it returned in 1950 it was the cheapest model Hudson sold in each of the three years, with a 119 inch wheelbase five inches shorter than the other Hudsons and the flathead 232 cubic inch six. When the Pacemaker was dropped, its 232 engine became the base engine of the 1953 and 1954 Wasp, while the 262 equipped Wasps were named Super Wasp.
