Honda released the second-generation Gold Wing, the GL1100, in 1979 as a 1980 model and kept it going through the 1983 model year. Its engine emphasised torque over horsepower, and it added air suspension, an adjustable seat and tubeless tires. In March 1980 Honda released the Interstate, the first Japanese turn-key tourer with a factory full fairing, saddlebags and removable trunk, and from 1982 the Aspencade added a new level of luxury, so Honda offered three Gold Wing models. Marysville, Ohio, began assembling Gold Wings in May 1980. Each model year has its own page.
