Honda CR-V (first generation)

Automobiles

The first-generation Honda CR-V, code RD1, was the first sport utility vehicle Honda designed entirely in house, and Hiroyuki Kawase led the design. It was introduced in Japan in October 1995 and went on sale in North America in February 1997, powered by a 2.0 liter straight four B20B engine on a chassis largely similar to the fourth generation Civic Shuttle wagon, with front wheel drive or Honda's Real Time AWD. Its flat folding seats and rear picnic table were distinctive. A facelift followed for the 2000 model year. Each model year of this generation has its own page.
